Colourful paprika festival during Keukenhof’s Germany weekend
Zoetermeer – This year, the Keukenhof flower expo will pay a colourful tribute to its German neighbours, under the motto 'Land of poets and thinkers'. GroentenFruit Bureau will play its part during the Germany weekend, coming April 29/30. Dutch quizmaster Harry Wijnvoord, who is extremely popular in Germany, will be presenting his ‘100% Reif für Genuss’ show during these two days. In this exciting quiz, everything revolves around the most multi-coloured fruiting vegetables from Dutch soil: paprika, tomato, eggplant and cucumber.
Dutch presenters enjoy a very good reputation on German television. The same applies to Dutch paprika’ s, tomatoes, cucumbers and eggplants in supermarkets: Germany is the largest export market for Dutch fruiting vegetables. In his quiz, Harry Wijnvoord will introduce the world behind all these delicacies. For instance, did you know that Dutch paprika growers are leading the way in biological crop protection? And that orange paprika’ s contain as much as triple the amount of vitamin C as oranges?
The ‘100% Reif für genuss’ show is not only educational, there are also tasty prices to be won, including a 3-months ‘vegetable-subscription’. The quiz takes about half an hour. On both days, sessions will start at 11AM, 12.30PM, 14PM and 15.30PM.
Colourful people are cooking with paprika
April 29/30 will not only be fun, but also yum-yum! The demo team of the paprika promotional campaign ‘Colourfultaste’ will take care of that. This campaign has been visiting Dutch and German supermarkets during the last two years. As of 2012, it will also target the UK. Its goal is showing people how versatile and tasty this colourful fruiting vegetable is. Green paprika has a spicy taste which adds a nice aroma to warm dishes, while the red and yellow varieties have a fresh and pure taste. The orange paprika is the sweetest of them all. It adds a savoury touch to salads, but is also very tasty in its simplest raw form. The website www.colourfultaste.nl contains a lot of recipes, information about ecologically sound paprika cultivation and cooking tips. It even features some nice games with paprika in a leading role.
