Zocher

Around 1850 the grounds belonged to Baron and Baroness van Pallandt, who invited the landscape architects Jan David (father) and Louis Paul (son) ZOCHER  to design the garden close to the present castle. Inspired by English landscapes, they made the basic design for this park with its majestic trees in the “Beech Tree lane” and next to the pond. (They also designed the Vondelpark in Amsterdam and the gardens of Soestdijk palace and a park in Rotterdam and in Utrecht.)
